Kenneth Stubbs had a natural command of line, color, and composition. He embraced and mastered a broad range of techniques and approaches in his art. His work spanned sizes from murals to miniatures and styles from Cubism to Sumi drawing. It encompassed classical figure studies and portraits, representational landscapes and still lifes, and abstractions that themselves ranged from warm family scenes to the completely non-representational. A major focus was the continuing refinement of geometric abstraction in the service of balanced and dynamic compositions in which everything relates to everything else. He was expert in the use of traditional media such as oil paint and charcoal, but he also produced major works using the less common casein, Japanese ink and wood paper.
This page presents examples of his best work across the full range of genres, media, and subjects. Below each work is a link to a page of other top-quality works in the same vein.
